Mary Bentley | Co-Founder
Mary was born in the Philippines, where she lived until she was eight years old, at which point she immigrated to the United States with her family. She spent her formative years in New Jersey and became a United States Citizen before graduating high school.
Mary attended Rutgers University and did a semester abroad at Melbourne University in Australia. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, she took a job in New York City as an associate project manager with a publicly traded global firm, Transperfect Translations. It was at Transperfect that Mary honed her exceptional data analysis and project management skills.
After a few years at Transperfect’s global headquarters in NYC, Mary was asked to move to Hawaii to open up a new office to manage the Asia Pacific region’s projects. She was the company’s youngest office/department manager, a testament to the quality of her work and natural leadership abilities. Soon after moving to Hawaii, Mary met Chris, who was stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii – Kaneohe Bay. They married in Hawaii and had their first son there as well.
Due to the nomadic military lifestyle, Mary decided to resign from Transperfect; however, they would not accept it. They pleaded with her to stay on as a remote project manager in charge of special international projects. She continued to work for Transperfect through 2013, when Chris got out of the Marine Corps and they both moved to Houston, TX.
Mary immediately took a job as a management consultant at a boutique firm, working on very high level projects for several major Fortune 500 oil and gas companies. Mary worked as a consultant until May of 2016, when she and Chris started Bellatorum Professional Services, now Bellatorum Resources.
Mary and Chris have been married for ten years and have two sons, ages 8 and 7, and a Great Dane named Zena. Mary enjoys traveling, art, experimental cooking with exotic cuisines, and spending time with her family.
