John Li | Staff Landman
John Li graduated from Acadiana High School in 2007 and immediately enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, where he served over six years. He served with the 5th and 10th U. S. Armed Forces Special Force Group in Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn and received several achievements for his service. He was honorably discharged in December of 2012 for the completion of his service. He maintains an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
During his military career, he pursued a B.S. degree in Energy Management from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. During his senior year, he interned with Audubon Energy, upon graduation he was a Landman position with the company. He has engaged in title research and curative work, lease and right-of-way acquisition, project and technology management, contract negotiations and preparation, and drill site coordination. While working with Audubon, he assists with land management solutions. Conceptualized and managed leasing projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million in budget, including team sizes from 5-15 people. He successfully contributes to the acquisition and development of assets over $450 Million.
John worked as a contractor at Acadian Land Services. While at Acadian Land Services, he initiates deals, contracts, agreements and negotiates with surface and mineral owners, regulatory agencies, and internal and external stakeholders. He successfully contributes to the acquisition of mineral interest of over $5 Million.
John holds a Certified Professional Landman certification from the American Association of Professional Landmen and is a member of the Houston Association of Professional Landmen. He is fluent in English and Chinese.
John is a first-generation immigrant originally from China where he spent the first half of his life. While serving in the Army, John took the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America and became a proud citizen of our great country. John has been married for nine years. He has two beautiful children, ages 5 and 2, and a Yorkie named Kiwi. John enjoys spending time with family, fishing, and archery. John served as a mentor to the Student Association of Professional Landman at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
