Jacob serves as Bellatorum’s Chief Technology Officer, leveraging his expertise with strategy, systems development, and software development to help Bellatorum become the country’s premier mineral service firm. As a seasoned developer with an MBA from Rice University, a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Houston and 4 years of service in the Air Force, Jacob aids Bellatorum’s rapid growth by supporting the company’s proprietary software solutions infrastructure. He develops custom software to streamline the company’s business processes utilizing both data science and Machine Learning to automate workflows, lower operating costs, and support decision making.

Jacob began his career as a medic in the United States Air Force, where he served in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. While stationed in Europe, Jacob deployed to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He left the Air Force after four years of service to pursue his undergraduate degree. Jacob then completed his degree in business administration at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.

After graduation, Jacob began working as an accountant for BBB Tank Services, LLC, a company specializing in the construction and repair of aboveground storage tanks, in Houston, TX. He eventually became the company’s CFO overseeing the accounting, budgeting, and administrative duties. While serving at BBB, Jacob completed his Master’s degree in Computer Science writing his thesis on the use of machine learning in algorithmic trading. In 2016, Jacob led a management buyout of the company backed by Main Street Capital and Turning Basin Capital. After taking over as CEO, Jacob oversaw a successful turnaround of the company. He implemented a high-performance management team, developed a robust business-development process, and consistently grew the company’s customer base and project count.

Jacob is a native Houstonian. He and his wife Amie live in the Clear Lake area with their three children: Austin, Madison, and Ethan. Jacob sits on the board of directors for BBB Tank Services, LLC, and ReCenter Houston.
